My constituency offices are in Falkirk and Denny but you will find me in the House of Commons from Monday to Thursday, most weeks. Before I became an MP I worked in Education and the Army and my interests are still mostly in the area of Education and Defence but I have added a few more since I started working in Westminster. I am Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Great Lakes Region of Africa and Vice-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Skills. On the 3rd of September 2009 I resigned as Parliamentary Aide to Bob Ainsworth MP Secretary of State for Defence, because I wanted to talk more openly about the war in Afghanistan.
